Always there when needed

Been with Fasthosts forever.
Always value for money.
Most of all technical help desk second to none.
Have many domain names, used Fasthosts hosting, dedicated and virtual servers for many years.
Probably goes back to the early 90's, lost count of the years.
Have tried others, no names mentioned, but still with Fasthosts!

Good value for money

I moved to Fasthosts after my previous webhosting company introduced a whole load of new features I had no use for and upped the price accordingly. With Fasthost you can choose what you need and only pay for what you are using.

Our expert opinion about Fasthosts

by Christopher Prüfer Web hosting expert

Fasthosts is a UK-based web hosting provider that has been active since 1999 and is part of the United Internet Group, which also owns IONOS. Over the years, Fasthosts has become a well-established name in the British hosting market, offering a broad portfolio of services ranging from shared hosting to domain registration, email solutions, VPS, and dedicated servers. The company operates its own data center in Gloucester, UK, ensuring that customers targeting a British or European audience benefit from fast response times and strong data protection under UK and EU regulations. Fasthosts is particularly known for its competitive pricing, straightforward setup, and reliable infrastructure, making it suitable for both individuals and businesses of all sizes.

Web Hosting Plans: Affordable and User-Friendly

In the area of shared hosting, Fasthosts provides a selection of entry-level to advanced plans that are designed to be beginner-friendly without compromising on performance. Features such as free SSL certificates, email accounts, and one-click installations for popular applications like WordPress are included. Customers can choose between Windows and Linux-based hosting environments, which adds flexibility depending on the project’s technical requirements. Fasthosts also integrates a simple control panel for easy management, while more experienced users still have access to advanced tools for database and file handling.

WordPress Hosting: Optimized for Simplicity and Performance

For WordPress users, Fasthosts offers specialized hosting packages optimized for the CMS. These plans include pre-installed WordPress, automatic updates, and enhanced performance through caching solutions. Staging tools allow for safe testing of new designs or plugins before going live, which is particularly valuable for growing websites or online businesses. The pricing of these plans is designed to remain attractive while providing solid performance and security features.

Server Solutions: VPS, Cloud, and Dedicated Options

Beyond shared hosting, Fasthosts offers a variety of scalable solutions for customers with higher demands. VPS packages provide dedicated resources and can be scaled easily in terms of RAM, storage, and processing power, with SSD storage for fast data access. Cloud hosting options are also available for businesses requiring flexible, pay-as-you-go infrastructure. Dedicated servers hosted in Fasthosts’ own UK data center come with customizable configurations, full root access, and 24/7 monitoring. These solutions are aimed at medium to large projects, including online shops and applications with higher performance needs.

Conclusion on Fasthosts

Fasthosts is a strong all-round provider in the UK hosting market, offering a well-balanced mix of affordability, reliability, and scalability. With solutions ranging from budget-friendly shared hosting to dedicated and cloud servers, it covers a wide spectrum of customer needs. Particularly for UK-based projects, Fasthosts’ local data center is a clear advantage. While it may not have the same global reach as some international players, Fasthosts stands out for its straightforward packages, flexible server solutions, and a focus on delivering dependable services to its customers.
